Choose a supported resting position
Ask the supplier how the model should be supported in storage and whether any hanging hardware is approved for that build. A padded, suitable surface should support the weight without leaving delicate hands or joints under pressure. Leave space to set the product down and adjust the support without dragging it.
Check surfaces that touch the finish
Dyes can transfer from clothing, upholstery and printed fabric. Vivant’s care guidance recommends caution around dark fabrics and testing uncertain materials on a hidden area. Plan for a clean, compatible barrier wherever the product rests. Check costume seams, elastic and hardware for pressure points before leaving garments on.
Keep the area accessible and dry
Store the model only after it is dry and check that you can reach it without difficult turns or lifting over obstacles. Keep any approved liners clean and replace them if damp or discoloured. If the supplier permits a particular hanging or standing system, inspect the contact points and follow its instructions.
Revisit the arrangement after the first week
Check the surfaces that carried weight or touched fabric for a prolonged period. If you see an impression or a transfer mark, adjust the contact and ask the seller how to address it safely for the material. Keep photos and care notes if you need help identifying the change.
